Carson Palmer has asked to be traded after eight seasons with the Bengals. However, it appears Mike Brown, Cincinnati Bengals president is unwilling to honor Palmer’s request. Palmer has previously indicated he will retire if his request for trade is not honored.
It seems Carson Palmer is going to retire. A real estate agent has confirmed that the Palmer home may hit the market by March. Palmer has yet to come forward to deny the story.
Carson Palmer’s career with the Bengals has not been a great one. At one point fans became so frustrated with Palmer’s game performance, they through garbage on the lawn of his home. Fans have highly criticized Palmer’s performance over the past eight seasons and many of the fans would be happy to see him go.
It would seem a trade or Palmer’s retirement is the best thing that could happen to the Bengals. Palmer’s performance with the team has not resulted in much success for the Bengals. Fan frustration with Palmer is high and it does not appear the frustration will not disappear any time soon. Palmer’s contract with the Bengals runs through 2014. Many fans cannot seem to bear another year with Palmer.
It is easy to understand why Palmer is ready to leave the Bengals. It is unlikely his performance will improve with the team. The opportunity to have a great NFL career has passed. He is in his early thirties and his best years have probably already passed. Palmer has had eight years with the Bengals and has been unable to deliver a great performance.
Palmer feels strongly about being traded and he may feel his only way out of the Bengals will be to retire. Whether he is traded or retires will not make a difference to the fans. Only time will tell if Mike Brown will change his mind and allow Carson Palmer to be traded. In the meantime, it appears Palmer is planning on moving.
