Leopoldo Lares Banorte and His Belief in Teamwork

August 16, 2011 By admin Leave a Comment

For Leopoldo Lares Banorte, a game of soccer is all about teamwork. You can’t be successful in getting a goal if you don’t play together with your teammates. You can’t be your own team while in the fields because the opposing team has several players who will do all they can to bring you down. Every player must work together in order to achieve their common goal and that is to win. This is why it’s very important that one develops his relationship with his teammates. They need to get along with each other in order for them to win. One must not think that he should always get the goal as that could lead to the ill fate of their team.

For Leopoldo Lares Banorte, each member must be able to work with any of his/her teammates without any favorites. You should not just throw the ball to the person that is nearest you but you have to see which player is the best person to keep the ball. He trains children by preparing them with opponents that can distract them with their play. He often combines the girls and boy players so they could experience what it’s like to handle different personalities in the field. For him, the game of soccer is similar to the game of life because we need to mingle with different personalities. We get to meet good people and some bad ones and we need to handle ourselves well and learn to play the ball properly in order to hit the goal.

Leopoldo Lares Banorte is actually very passionate about soccer and he also loves children as he has his own kids who also love soccer. He made use of his talent in soccer to teach children and be able to take part in making their dreams to become a reality. Many children love soccer and he is giving them the chance to actually become great players and be able to join a winning team. It’s not about being the best player in the field but by being the best team player. He believes that training children in a team will make them wiser, stronger and less vulnerable to experiencing pain. This same principle applies to their life. By becoming successful in soccer it will give them the sense of pride that will make them become more confident with their decisions. He believes that a winning player must have the right attitude and so the discipline and training starts from within. Because of his great skills in training and disciplining children to become the best players that they could be, many parents enroll their children for him as their soccer coach because of the big change in their children especially with acquiring a good attitude.

The Columbia River Gorge’s beauty is absolutely breathtaking in spots, with deep green conifers and broad-leaf deciduous trees carpeting both sides of the river atop steep cliffs, waterfalls and huge wind-beaten basalt formations that accent an otherwise serene view.

Gradually, going east on the river will bring visitors to Hood River, high on a knoll overlooking the great river.

Hood River, Oregonis home to multiple river activities and events every year. The wind pushes toward the Washington side and is dependable, which makes it a good site for training, as well as events and competitions.

Great Scenery, Ample Room, Good Fun

At The Event Site, windsurfing and kiting competitions are frequent events. It’s a difficult area with a good west wind and contoured gravel beaches, and the river maintains a medium chop.

Everyone who’s anyone, including champion skater/snowboarder/athlete Shawn White, have played on the Columbia River. It’s a great place for families and the high desert is just a short drive further east on the highway.

In the high desert the wildlife will come out in the cool evenings and mornings. Early daytimes reveal pheasants and quail looking for food, sometimes with a gang of tiny little quail following a dedicated hen. Deer and antelope are regularly seen grazing on grass clumps and shrubs just before sundown.

Nearby is Kite Beach, where the river runs wide with a gradual shallow slope from the shoreline. A moderate west wind blows consistently over sandy beaches where it’s rated Beginners to Difficult.

It’s a rare moment when the characteristic wind isn’t brushing through the gorge, making this a perfect area for water sports.

Drug Use in Sports

With the extreme records that have recently been broken in several professional sports, it shouldn’t be too surprising to learn that drug use among professional athletes is becoming a huge problem. The types of drugs that are most often used are those that provide extra energy or somehow enhance the athlete’s performance. Steroid use is actually becoming a epidemic in the realm of professional American sports, but other drugs such as cocaine, amphetamines and caffeine have all been used as performance-enhancers by professional athletes.

Athletes such as boxers, wrestlers and mixed-martial arts fighters are grouped together by weight class. This means that before large matches, the fighters are weighed publically to make sure that they still fit within their weight class. This has undoubtedly led to a number of athletes in these sports using drugs that dehydrate or control appetite. Dropping several pounds quickly over a short period of time can be stressful on the healthiest body, and using diuretics is one of the surest ways.

One other type of drugs that is often abused by those who play professional sports is pain killers. Oxycodoneand Hydrocodone can help players mask the pain experienced by sore muscles and even severe injuries, allowing them to keep on playing even when it is not advisable. Until we can send a message that any type of drug abuse by athletes is unacceptable, this will likely always be a problem. Unfortunately, Americanshave yet to discover a way to do that.

Get Your Child Involved in Sports

Listening to Coach

There are a number of reasons that kids might be intested in playing sports while in elementary, junior high or high school, not the least of which is that it gives them an opportunity to have fun. However, parents need to be aware that sports offer more than just a good time to kids. In addition to learning the value of discipline, hard work and being part of a team, children also receive a much-needed boost in self-esteem and personal responsibility.

While it’s definitely possible to damage a child by giving too much undeserved praise, all kids have a need to hear about their successes. Praise and correction are both necessary in child rearing and in sports coaching, making these two activities work together to provide a healthy experience for kids. Those who participate in team sports, whether school-sponsored or on summer leagues, tend to develop a much healthier sense of self-worth than students who do not join sports teams.

Some parents are confused about how to deal with children who seem to have no interest in sports. If your child states that he does not want to join a team, try to ascertain the reasons behind his reluctance. Is he shy, and trying to avoid social opportunities? Is he concerned about his skills? Does he seem to enjoy watching the sport on television or going to games in person? If the answers to these questions are ”no,” you may be best served by dropping the subject. Forcing your child to participate in a sport that he has no desire to play will only alienate him.

The NFL’s Forgotten Players

February 23, 2011 By admin Leave a Comment
The new NFL logo went into use at the 2008 draft.

Image via Wikipedia

The NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry. Since 1993, many players enjoy lucrative contracts with the NFL. Prior to 1993, most of the NFL’s best players made money through endorsements. Salaries prior to 1993 were a fraction of salaries that many players obtained after 1993.

This has left many of the great NFL players homeless and penniless. Many of these players have failing health and much of the failing health is related to the beating many of these players endured on the field.

While team owners claim players are greedy and the players claim team owners are the ones consumed with greed, many previous players struggle to live off pensions of $800 to $1200 per month. Most players earn pensions under $800 per month.

Many players donate funds to help older players with expenses. However, the NFL and its current players are not very generous. Many people are under the impression most retired players are wealthy. This is far from the truth. Many of the players that played before 1993, when more lucrative contracts were given, scrape by and some are actually homeless.

The NFL has forgotten about most of these players. These are the players that helped to make the NFL what it is today. It is said to hear that some of the great stars of the NFL die penniless or are broke from soaring medical costs due to injuries incurred while they played football.

There are not many of the old players that are alive, surely the NFL can muster up enough money to help the ones that are still here. Apparently, the NFL feels no responsibility to these players other than the pensions the players receive.

Sadly, the public believes all NFL football players are rich. They are under the impression that many great players in the past simply squandered their earnings. The truth is that before 1993 players did make a decent living; however, there were not multi-million dollar contracts back then.

Do We Really Need Another Book by Jose Conseco?

February 16, 2011 By admin Leave a Comment

It appears Jose Conseco has another book left in him. Maybe he is just running out of money. Jose Conseco had a brilliant baseball career and back in 2005 decided to write a couple of tell-all books about baseball’s dirty steroid secrets.

He did not just write about his own steroid use, but implicated many of his teammates. His book caused a great deal of outrage and many baseball players denied Conseco’s accusations. Most of them later admitted to steroid use.

The widespread steroid use exposed by Jose Conseco threatened the credibility of the Major League Baseball organization. Jose Conseco became one of the most controversial baseball players in the history of the game. He angered many of his teammates and friends when he exposed the use of steroids by many professional baseball players. He claimed that at least 85 percent of major league baseball players used steroids and on point or another.

Since then Jose Conseco has lived a life filled with controversy. To this day, there are many baseball fans that harbor a great deal of resentment toward Jose Conseco. Whether Jose Conseco was trying to do a good thing by exposing steroid use is debatable. Many feel he chose to write his first two books only to benefit monetarily.

It appears that Jose Conseco has one more book he would like to share with the world. He plans to release a book that discusses how the previous two books affected his life. Unfortunately, he does not yet have a publisher and may have to find a way to publish the book on his own. It may be that people will not be interested in the stories of his personal hardships caused by his other two books.

Jose Conseco was in fact a phenomenal baseball player at one time. However, he achieved greatness through the use of steroids and achieved notoriety by writing two books exposing the use of steroids in professional sports. The world does not really need another book written by Jose Conseco.

Versatility in Sports Betting

February 14, 2011 By admin Leave a Comment

If you’re not up to date on sports betting, you certainly have some catching up to do. It is not as simple as betting on who will win what game – there are additional options that add to the fun. Here are some tips to guide you through the world of sports betting.

You should first know that sports betting can be done at an online casino. This will enable you to make bets whenever it is comfortable, as all you need is an internet connection. Simply log onto the site, do some research, and place your bets. When you place your bet, you may be confused on what the terms refer to. The money line refers to the odds based on what team will win. Thus, if you see the underdog (the team that isn’t favored) as a +100 for the money line, you will receive what you put down on the game if this team wins.

The other basic term is the spread. This refers to the amount that a team must win by, or the losing team must lose by (if +5.5 they need to win by less than six points) to win the bet. For example, if the Knicks are favored by 7.5 points (viewed -7.5), then they will need to win by eight points to win the bet.

Don’t be too confused by other terms. A parlay allows you to bet on multiple games at once, adding to your odds and potential payout. A teaser gives you more favorable odds on more than one game, but lessens the potential payout. Other terms you can read about later, such as props betting (i.e., Will a player score more than 23.5 points?).

Take the opportunity to read about the types of sports bets and get ready for sports betting on the Internet. This is a great way to stay involved in sports and win a bit of extra money.
